Prometa Program
PROMETA® for Alcohol, Cocaine, and Meth Detox
Our breakthrough alcohol treatment program, the PROMETA Treatment Program is a different approach to treating alcohol, cocaine and meth addiction. Detox involves innovative medical treatment with nutritional support and psychological counseling - all available on an outpatient basis.*
The program is designed to help:
• relieve cravings and anxiety
• restore nutritional balance
• improve mental clarity
• initiate counseling
…so you can focus on your recovery instead of your addiction.
What is the PROMETA Treatment Program?
The PROMETA Treatment Program is designed to “jumpstart” the recovery process by first addressing the alcohol CRAVINGS. It is the only alcohol outpatient rehab program to uniquely combine medical and psychosocial therapy into one integrated program. The alcohol treatment program includes three components - medical treatment, nutritional support and talk therapy – all critical in helping people break the grips of addiction to methamphetamine (meth), cocaine and alcohol.
Patient Comments:
"It's like the cravings have vanished." BL
"Since the treatment, my need to drink has not resurfaced." JG
"The first treatment was the start of a new life." MB
"After 35 years of alcohol addiction, I feel like a new man." AR
"After the treatment, my energy, clarity, and sense of purpose have returned." JB
The Outpatient Alcohol Detox Program includes:
Medical
In addition to a complete physical assessment, the medical component of the treatment consists of the physician supervised administration of three oral and IV medications in a unique dosing method in our outpatient setting. These initial treatments occur during three consecutive daily visits of about 2 hours each. Cocaine and meth patients receive a second two-day treatment approximately three weeks after the initial treatment. Also, a one-month course of non-addictive at-home prescription medications is begun after the initial treatment. The medical component is designed to help relieve cravings and increase mental clarity, to help you abstain from drugs and alcohol and focus on your recovery.Nutritional
During the initial treatment, patients are given nutritional supplementation. Nutritional counseling, based on our nutritional guidelines for patients in recovery, is also provided to each patient to help overcome nutritional deficits commonly found in substance dependent individuals, as well as establish healthy dietary habits designed to support your recovery.
Proper nutrition may play a crucial role in recovery with the aim of helping patients maintain focus and concentration, regulate sleep patterns, and support overall good health.
Psychological
Psychological counseling is a critical component of the pro¬gram and should begin immediately after the initial medical treatment. The type of counseling each patient receives is determined in conjunction with the treating physician based on a comprehensive assessment and can include individual or group therapy or any form of 12-step or faith-based programs. A portion of the fee for the PROMETA Treatment Program is earmarked for this crucial component of recovery.
Psychological counseling is crucial to learning how to deal with issues in your life that have led you to, or prevented you from stopping, the abuse of drugs and alcohol.
