What if I don’t live in Sarasota?
We serve a very large population of patients, and regularly have patients from out of town or out-of-state make appointments to seek treatment at St. Armand's Medical Center, in large part due to our positive reputation and our expertise in treating addiction.
If you are not in the Sarasota area, but would like to seek treatment with us, please call and we can assist you with a list of recommend local hotels from moderate to luxury accommodations.
How do you maintain patient confidentiality?
Your confidentiality is our priority. Patients, particularly those suffering from some form of drug or alcohol addiction, sometimes fear they will see someone they know at a treatment center. Due to the nature of the integrated practice, our patients may have general medical problems such as hypertension, heart problems or diabetes. Addiction services are integrated into this general medical care population. In addition, medical records are not shared with anyone without written patient consent.
In some cases, we are able to make alternative arrangements at patient request for further privacy.
What addictions do you treat?
We treat people addicted to alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamines and opiates.
What treatment options do you offer for addictions?
Our staff is skilled in a variety of treatments for drug and alcohol addictions and we are committed to finding the option that is best for you (or your loved one).
St. Armand's Medical Center is a leader in addiction treatment. Dr. Carlstrom was one of the very first physicians to use Suboxone for detoxification from opiate dependence. Naltrexone and Vivitrol treatment for alcoholic patients is also offered. St Armand's Medical Center is the only practice in the Sarasota area that offers the PROMETA Treatment Program for the treatment of alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamine.
